Meet the Artist
Hello! I am Danielle Campbell, the artist behind Cillamint Studio. I'd like to tell you a story about my path to getting here, this little space. Oh boy do I love a story! Storytelling is an important part of my creative process and is also my love language! I have been creating and making since I was a youngster. One of my earliest memories was hand making every one of my birthday party invitations for my seventh birthday party. I drew images of party scenes so every one of those darlings was bespoke before it was trend.
I followed on my creative aspirations through high school and was the one at college who was painting those banners for events and flyers for the college bulletins. While I chose to pursue a career in Psychology, I have been haunted by a wistful dream that I was called to create. And so this is the start of the journey to fulfil that dream and my respond with gratitude and commitment to nurture my creative heart.
I am a multi-passionate artist. I create drawings in graphite and coloured pencil and I also paint in watercolour and acrylic paint. I'd love to create art for you to tell your own story.
Somedays I lament waiting so long to start a creative full time career but I also trust that everything happens at the exact time it is supposed to happen. This faith keeps me grounded in being thankful for the last twenty years of being in a corporate public servant career. I am now in a position where I can take the time to nurture my growth as an art which in turn allows me the opportunity to create beautiful art for you. Just for you. Isn't that swell? xx

I have spent a good deal of time practicing and refining a variety of different artistic mediums. I absolutely love painting with watercolours and even my acrylic pieces are fluid and show the translucent nature of the paint.
But, my first love and enduring call to create is drawing. I wholeheartedly believe that I create beautiful paintings because I have a deep love of drawing. I love to be able to share this very special part of my practice with interested folk. It brings me so much heart happiness to hear from people how I have been able to capture their children or themselves within the whimsical illustrative style of drawing like these pieces.
