Souka and her Hummingbirds, Lottie and Lye
My hope with these illustrations is to provide the space for each character to tell the story of how they want to change the way animals and humans intersect, better than words ever could.
The stories will be of kindness, beauty and freedom but above all love for the little creatures and those who keep them safe.
Souka is known for her lovely shiny hair and she takes great care to keep her locks strong and healthy. Many believe that Souka's efforts are for her own vanity but her reasons for the care are far more heartfelt. Every spring Souka cuts her lovely locks and lays them out on her porch ready for her family of hummingbirds to come collect for building their nests. Souka doesnt need the townsfolk to know her true heart for it is only important that her Hummingbirds trust her completly.

I have created these works with Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils on Canson Cotton Paper. Each original is sized at A2 which equates to 42 x 59 cm. These are unframed works.
These works are sold unframed with a white mat surround so that you can simply take to the framers or slip into your favourite ikea frame.
